There have been a number of parents that have purchased shoes in previous seasons that are not soccer approved. We thought we would post what is approved to help make sure you get the right equipment so your child can play.
It is against the rules to play with cleats that are not soccer approved. So, what is the difference between Soccer shoes and other sports cleats, like football or baseball? Aren't they all the same?
In the West United League, we wish to provide an atmosphere of Safety and Sportsmanship. This leads to the following ruling under Sportsmanship that we call Score Advantage. This is when a team is down by three (3) points at any point in the game; the team that is down in points has the opportunity to improve their advantage by adding one (1) extra player to the field for each score against them.
For example, if a team is down in points by 3-0, 4-1, 5-2, etc. they may add an additional player to their team on the field.
Equipment is essential to any job, activity, or sport. The tools make it possible to be successful or a failure at what you do. Soccer equipment is simple, yet if you don't have right type, the game won't be as fun. Someone, either you, or someone else, will get hurt.
The league rules regarding substitutions have been updated to match rules being implemented in the competition league (Razzia).

The league will now allow a substitution by either team on a stoppage of play. Not just for the team that has possession.
Substitutions will still ONLY be allowed on the following stoppages:
