The classes for the Spring 2010 season are pending Library Classroom reservations. Please send an email to Greg Wright (Referee Director) to find out more or to sign up.

Ever want to be more informed about the rules of Soccer? What is offsides? What does the referee look for in good sportsmanship? What is the exepectation of the referee, the coach, the players, or the spectators? We want to bring everyone together to all be on the same page about the rules and expectations.

Substitution Rule Changes

The league rules regarding substitutions have been updated to match rules being implemented in the competition league (Razzia).

Our current league Laws of the Game indicate that a substitution can occur on a stoppage of play and only for the team that has possession of the ball. The league will now allow a substitution by both teams on a stoppage of play. Not just for the team that has possession.

Substitutions will still ONLY be allowed on the following stoppages:

Coaches Meeting 2009-2010 Season

There will be a meeting on Thursday, July 30th @ 7:00 PM at the Magna Library. We would like all coaches to be invited to be there. Coordinators, when you call, please have them provide a shirt size (HEAD coach only) and turn them in to Amy by July 22nd.

All coordinators and board members should plan on being there that evening to help.

Coaches, you will receive your folders, uniforms, equipment, and more.

Website Update

We have recently updated the website and desired to provide an advancement in presenting League and Division information in a more organized way. At the top of each page, we have placed a link to each division blog. Within each blog, you will find information that relates directly to that division. We hope this will allow you to get to the details much faster and it will help us to organize the information better and it doesn't get overlooked.

Offsides

What is offsides? What are the rules pertaining to offsides? How can it be used as a strategy? Often time, this rule is mistaken more or has had more controversy than any other rule. In fact, a player is not offsides in and of itself. A player is only offsides when certain conditions occur and the referee feels that the play is unfair. This should peak an interest in learning more about the rule.

Field Adjustments

There have been some field adjustments made for some of the divisions. These changes have been updated on the schedule but wanted to summarize them here for your convenience. The changes have been made to conserve paint and man hours painting the fields. We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused. The game times have not changed, only the field.

Soccer Equipment

As the season approaches, examine all of your childrens soccer equipment and uniform. Make sure they are up to date and they are safe and fit. We have some recommendations regarding your soccer equipment from our knowledgeable members that have played and taught for decades. Know what to look for in the best athletic equipment which will help the soccer experience be the best.
