Score Advantage Rule

In the West United League, we wish to provide an atmosphere of Safety and Sportsmanship. This leads to the following ruling under Sportsmanship that we call Score Advantage. This is when a team is down by three (3) points at any point in the game; the team that is down in points has the opportunity to improve their advantage by adding one (1) extra player to the field for each score against them.

For example, if a team is down in points by 3-0, 4-1, 5-2, etc. they may add an additional player to their team on the field.

In the case that another goal is scored by a overly-dominating team, the team that is down in points can add one (1) additional player. It is possible, at the discretion of the referee, or referee coordinator/director or coach, that if the goal was made because of a very good strategic play, and not by dominance, then don't add another player.

In summary, if the teams are lopsided in equality of play and skill, then the ruling allows a team that is down in points to add additional players to bring their level of play up to equal that of the opposite team. To make them balanced.

IN the case that the team which has added players starts to score, this is fine and the teams stay the same, however, when the teams are now equal in scoring, the team that has added players should remove one. This tends to indicate that the team that has added players now overpowers the other team.

Again, we wish to employ a play style of equality and not dominance so much that there are scores in the 10's
