Referee and Coach Training
Ever want to be more informed about the rules of Soccer? What is offsides? What does the referee look for in good sportsmanship? What is the exepectation of the referee, the coach, the players, or the spectators? We want to bring everyone together to all be on the same page about the rules and expectations.
Here are the details about our 2008-2009 Referee/Coaches training session.
| Where: | Hunter Park |
| Date: | August 9, 2008 |
| Time: | 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM |
| Topic: | Rules of the game |
In the past, this has helped all the referees and coaches to gain a better apprciation for the game through improved knowledge through Q&A and experience by being involved in the on-the-field seminar. We will also be handing out a condensed rules book for everyone to take home and learn the most important aspects of the game.
Please RSVP to Greg Wright (Referee Director) to give notice if you will or will not be attending. We want you to respond to say that you'll be there or not so we can make the correct number of copies for those that will be there. We will also make enough for those that will not be there and hand them out at the next session (on-the-field seminar). Sending a notice that you will/will not be there helps us to know who is participating or not. If you don't respond, to us, you aren't participating.
We are looking for additional referees in the older age groups; if you know of anyone that would like to participate, please invite them to attend and a part of our great league and referee group. The referee age we need are for 16 years to 18 years or adults.
Our wonderful youth group of referees are learning the game better through their involvement as a referee, and our program has been very successful. Also, this participation and improvement has clearly improved the game-play on the field because the players are learning through the referee's accurate calling and weekly involvement. Our referees are great mentors to other players.
You have all done a wonderful job!
